Minimally Invasive Surgery has been performed in human medicine for decades.

However, these procedures for pets have not been as widely implemented due to the extra training and expense of equipment. Minimally Invasive Surgery allows many of the same surgical procedures to be performed through very small incisions with special endoscopic cameras. Many of the procedures can be done through an incision smaller than that needed for a spay. This typically means less trauma to the patient, faster recovery, and many times less anesthesia.

Dr. Johnson has been trained in the following Minimally Invasive Procedures:

  • Ovariectomy

  • Gastropexy

  • Cryptorchid Neuters

  • Liver biopsies
